While handguns are illegal for all citizens, some forms of hunting rifles and knives are legal in Japan with the proper permit. I didn't really see much to hunt around the island except for mikan fruits, and they didn't put up much of a fight.

    There are hunting clubs in Shikoku. Don't be suprised to see an SUV with a gun rack pulling up to a convenience store early on a Saturday morning.
