Within Tokyo there is an area called Asakusa and within Asakusa there is a smaller area called Kuramae. Kuramae is where I live. This area is about ten minutes walk on Edo Street from the "downtown"-style food joints and souvenir shops near the famous Kaminarimon Gate. Asakusa is more traditionally Japanese than the bustling metropolitan streets of Shibuya or Shinjuku. However, the downtown area of Asakusa does have its fair share of tourists. My area however is mostly home to large coporate buildings (and my housing complex of course!).
Below are some pictures from the area right around my broom closet building.
