The Japanese have a tradition of eating fried chicken for Christmas dinner (especially KFC), precisely because they think that is what we do in America. In fact, KFC, through ingenious marketing, has nearly cornered the market on holiday chicken sales nationwide. Sure enough, walking around Nagasaki on Christmas Eve, I saw a huge line of customers waiting to pick up their chicken dinners.
