There are the Ainu who inhabited the northern islands of Japan. What sort of people inhabited the southern part? Were they the ancestors of the present day Japanese? Did they originate from China?
I don't honestly know. The urn is said to be from the Yayoi period (500 BC ~ 300 AD). Most evidence points to the southern Yayoi people as having originated from present day China (or perhaps Korea).
