The Japanese have pioneered canned coffee - it is one of their contributions to the world along with Power Rangers. You can buy the cans tsumetai (cold) and attakai (hot). If you buy it hot, the vending machine will heat the can before it gives to you. I've been drinking one or two coffee cans in the morning. They're yummy - probably have a ton of calories. Right now it's Boss Coffee - that's my can of choice. I've also been eating sweet custard rolls for breakfast.
I both love and hate coin currency economies where you can pay for lots of stuff with 500 Yen (about 5 bux) coins. You just pop them in machines and hand them to people and you don't register that you're spending lots of money.
I've switched on the hardcore porn twice in my room already. BY MISTAKE - I can assure you. I hope my room doesn't get charged, I'm not looking forward to explaining the accident of watching hardcore porn in Japanese to the front desk.
I tried to get tickets for the Takarazuka performance of Berusaiyu no Bara or "The Rose of Versailles" but it was all sold out every night. Darn! For more on Takarazuka please see my links on the right.
Went to McDonalds twice yesterday for grub. I was still on PST and woke up craving food because my biological clock said it was the afternoon. McDonalds Japan has NO MCGRIDDLES!! TRAGEDY! I'm flying home as soon as possible, I just don't see any other way. Japanese MD's sells fillet o' fish sandwiches for breakfast. I also had a new sandwich there for a snack, a Japanese original; a fried shrimp sandwich with sweet chili sauce. It was really good. You have to ask for ketchup specifically in MD's in Japan because they won't give it to you since people prefer mayonaise on their fries.

I don't even know where to start with this.
I guess I am just reminded of the ancient Japanese proverb:
"Hagutu saishi, nipo hagira-son fugi mon"
Translation:
"A life without McGriddles is like a birdie without a perch"
'Nara baby
