>>Kyoto City<<
Here are some general pictures of Kyoto . I’ve had these for a while but have neglected to put them up. There is a large river known as the Kamo that runs directly through the city, cutting it in half. The Stanford Japan Center (SJC) is on the same side of the river as my host house, but if you want to go downtown for instance, you have to cross the river. On hot days people will lay out by the river and young kids will frolic in the water. There are several homeless people that live in blue tarp-covered box houses under the Kamo River bridges too. I have also included some pictures of the SJC itself. The SJC is where I commute to each day (15 minutes by bike) to take my classes and relish in the working internet access. The Center is pretty boring so you can rest assured that these shots represent ALL the personality the building has to offer.
