The side of Dōgo Onsen. If I stood on my tippy toes I could see people in yukata enjoying some cold tea after a bath.

My wife is from Matsuyama. We live in America now. I love Matsuyama. It is interesting for me since my wife grew up there and she went to school at the base camp of the castle before it was transformed into the historical site it is today. The castle itself is remarkable. What I like best about Matsuyama is that it feels like a city in Japan that time forgot. It's a modern city but it is off the beaten path. I love visiting my wife's family in the country side of Ehime Prefecture. Ehime is lovely and rural. I have a hard time reminding myself it is Japan, except for the fact it is Japan!
I'm glad I ran across your web page. My wife and I are visiting Japan towards the end of the year.
