This morning marked my one-year anniversary since coming to Japan.
To celebrate, I went to a famous old sweet shop in Ginza on the recommendation of a Japanese friend. The store's name is "Kanoko" (鹿の子), and the building dates back to 1946.
While Kanoko is most famous for their traditional Japanese sweets, such as anmitsu, dango, and shiruko, the second floor restaurant offers lunchtime bento and noodles as well.
I felt that the price was a bit too high for a simple bowl of cold noodles, but that's Ginza in a nutshell. However, the after-lunch sweet I ordered was absolutely delicious.
If you're interested in visiting, Kanoko is located across the street from the Wako Department Store in Ginza, next to a Belgian waffle cafe. The restaurant is located on the second floor.
